Brown Fused Alumina (BFA) is made from premium bauxite, anthracite, and iron filings, which are fused at temperatures above 2000°C in an electric arc furnace. The material is then crushed,shaped in a self-mill, magnetically separated to remove iron, and sorted into various particle sizes. It has a dense, hard structure with spherical particles, making it ideal for producing high-performance abrasive tools made of ceramics and resin. BFA is also used for grinding, polishing, sandblasting, precision casting, and the manufacture of high-quality refractory materials.

Applications:

2.     Grinding: As a high-performance abrasive, BFA is used in grinding applications such as picture tubes, optical glass, lenses, watches with glass, crystal glass, and jade. It is a key material in domestic high-end grinding processes.

3.     Resin Bond Abrasive Tools: BFA is ideal for use in resin bond abrasive tools due to its suitable color, excellent hardness, toughness, appropriate particle structure, and edge retention.

4.     Coated Abrasives: BFA is also used in the production of coated abrasives, offering durability and performance.

5.     Corundum Functional Fillers: BFA serves as an effective corundum functional filler in various applications.

6.     Filter Media: BFA is used as a filtration medium due to its efficient properties.

Additionally, it is used in producing high-quality refractory materials, such as hook refractory materials and refractory castables.
