Deadman Handle in Sandblasting Systems:
A deadman handle is a critical safety device used in sandblasting operations. It functions as a remote control switch that regulates the flow of abrasive media and compressed air to the blast hose. The blasting process only occurs when the operator actively holds down the handle. If the handle is released intentionally or in an emergency the system immediately stops the flow of abrasive and air.
This automatic shutoff feature protects the operator and others nearby from accidental exposure and allows for safe, single-person operation from a distance. The deadman handle ensures that blasting can only occur under controlled conditions, minimizing the risk of injury or equipment damage.
